Female lions form the core of a pride, with strong social bonds between related lionesses. Although not always the most visible, lionesses are considered the decision-makers within the pride, guiding hunting strategies and coordinating pride activities. The survival of a pride often hinges on the lionesses’ ability to protect their territory.
